- - - - Voluntary Response: People who willingly complete a survey on their own accord. Example: Call in surveys on the radio that cost money to participate in.
      - Undercoverage: When specific groups of people are left of of a sample. Example: Not asking people who are effected by a natural disaster what is needed to be done.
      - Convenience Sample: Getting results from the group that is easiest to reach. Example: Asking your co-workers what their favorite food is.
  - - - Response Bias: When a person is influenced to give the answer that is socially acceptable. Example: Asking someone who lives with Boston fans who their favorite sports team is.
      - Non-Response: When a group of people do not respond for a specific reason. Example: Reviews for a product on websites, people who had bad experiences with a product are more likely to leave a review.
      - Wording Bias: The words being used in a question lead the responder to a certain answer. Example: Is the appalling Donald Trump fit to run the country?
  - - - Advantages: Better for use when a group has many different levels of income/education, etc.
      - Disadvantages: Does not cover an entire population easily.
    - - Advantages: Easy and cheap to group up and use resources in a concentrated area
      - Disadvantages: Least representative of an entire population as it only surveys a specific area.
    - - Advantages: Easy to use if the entire population is similar and the data is easy to collect.
      - Disadvantages: Difficult to execute if people in survey are spread out, may not show differences in lifestyle of the people surveyed.

        If an experiment took place that wanted to find out how many people watched major U.S. sports, and of those, how many watched each sport, there would not only be multiple factors like which sport and if they watched, but these factors would be split in to treatments of similar factors. The experimental units would then respond to the survey and give us the response variables, which could range from not watching sports at all to watching every major sport in the U.S.
