      - Wairarapa Moana Wetlands Project began in 2008and extended with funding from the Ministry for the Environment’s Fresh Start for Freshwater Clean Up Fund in 2012
        
        20km of fencing, planting 70,000 seedlings, mainly as riparian planting, installing five wetlands and completing other projects such as improving water use efficiency, improving the efficiency of agrichemical applications and improving effluent management systems

        Kaiwaiwai Dairies wetland

        Water quality going in and out of this wetland has been analysed monthly in a joint programme by Kaiwaiwai Dairies Ltd and GWRC since March 2015
        
        The wetland effectively reduces nitrate loss from the farm by 9% down to 12 kg N/ha/y. P loss = 4%
