He was also sceptical of Britain and France as they had done nothing to stop Hitler rearming Germany and seizing territory in Europe.
The Munich agreement also made Stalin suspicious and it seemed to him as if the British and French were happy to direct Hitler towards the USSR
Stalin was also concerned about Hitler's militaristic ambitions and this had grown throughout the 1930s.
