AT can present a challenges for teachers because of their comfort level with programs that students are using. They are unable to assist.

With so many available applications, how is one to know all of them well enough to identify what may work best for each individual student, and know the application well enough to support the student through challenges and technical difficulty

Interactive Smartboard applications like Boardmaker Studio, Clicker 6 and SmartNotebook allow students to demonstrate understanding of concepts without verbal communication
Increased independence - students are able to demonstrate their knowledge independently using strategies that work for them
Increased confidence - as students are able to more independently demonstrate their knowledge, they meet more success which in turn builds confidence
