      - Egeus is pissed at Hermia and Lysander for being in love. Egeus wants her to marry Demitrius.
      - Theseus gives Hermia 3 choices: a. Death b. Marry Demetrius c. Become a nun
      - Lysander's aunt has a bunch of money and thinks of him as a son. She lives 7 leagues from Athens and they can run away there
      - Helena learns of their plans and intends to snitch on them to Demetrius who flirted with Helena to begin with and "won her soul"
    - - A group of blue-collar Athenian workmen meet to discuss putting on a play of Pyramus and Thisby (Romeo/Juliet) in celebration of the Duke's wedding
      - Nick Bottom is a blowhard who bullies his friends, talks too much, and wants to do everything himself. He's very narcissistic
      - They assign parts and decide to meet in the woods so that they can practice in private
  - - - Titania and Oberon have been broken up and seeing other people for over a year and she has adopted a boy and he wants the boy--(Oberon is controlling)
      - Helena and Demetrius show up and he's looking for Lysander and Hermia-- Helena is begging him to love her
      - Puck is the trickster, a Loki figure who doesn't mean any harm but causes trouble
      - Helena tells Demetrius he can beat her like a dog, but Demetrius wants her to leave him alone
      - Oberon feels sorry for Helena and vows to change Demetrius' feelings for her
      - Oberon tells Puck to fetch a flower that when squeezed on sleeping eyelids will make that person fall in love with the next live creature it sees
      - Oberon intends to use this flower to get Titania back for her disobedience to him and to get Puck to use the flower on Demetrius (and Athenian lad) to get him to love Helena
    - - Helena finds Lysander asleep, she then wakes him up, and Lysander falls in love with Helena.
      - Hermia wakes up to no Lysander and decides to go look for him
      - Lysander, Hermia, and Titania all fall asleep
      - Puck mistakes Lysander for Demetrius and puts the flower on Lysander's eyes and Oberon puts the flower on Titania's eyes
      - Demetrius goes looking for Hermia and Helena follows him into the woods and won't leave him alone
  - - - Titania wakes up and falls in love with Bottom and refuses to let him leave the woods (hostage) but promises to pay him with fairy jewels and treats.
      - Puck finds them and turns Bottom into a donkey and the other guys run away in fear
      - The Mechanicals all meet to rehearse the play. They discuss how to bring moonshine into the chamber and how to present a "wall"
    - - Demetrius and Hermia enter and Hermia is wondering what happened to Lysander (It's clear the Puck erred and magic juiced the wrong Athenian)
      - Demetrius falls asleep after Hermia leaves. Oberon instructs Puck to find Helena and Oberon charms Demetrius' eye with the flower
      - Oberon and Puck discuss what has happened to Titania
      - Lysander and Helena show up, Demetrius wakes up and sees Helena and falls in love
      - Helena thinks she's being pranked and the guys are getting ready to fight and then the girls fight too
      - Puck causes fog and uses his voice to confuse Lysander and Demetrius until they are tired and go to sleep. Then the fairies cause the girls to find the guys and they all fall asleep near each other.
      - Puck undoes the magic on Lysander's eyes
  - - - Titania is still in love with Nick Bottom as an ass due to the love spell
      - Puck and Oberon discuss about what happened to Titania. Then, Oberon realizes how to undo the spell on Titania, and when she awakes she is terrified that she loved a donkey
      - During the spell he did, Titania agreed to give up the boy.
      - They all then went to the temple to feast for the great wedding
    - - Bottom finally shows up and asks why everyone is so sad and worried
      - Bottom said that he has an amazing story to tell, but there isn't enough time to to tell it before the performance
      - The athenians worry about Bottom's absence and agree that he is the only one that can play the role of Pyramus
  - - - Theseus released the mechanicals for their efforts
      - Puck gives a speech at the end telling everyone not to be offended over the play because it's a fictional novel
      - The mechanicals' performed their play to the whole gang
      - Theseus decides he wants to see Pyramus and Thisbe for the play for his wedding
