Play Summary
Act I
Theseus and Hippolyta are getting married in 4 days.
Egeus is pissed at Hermia and Lysander for being in love. Edges wants her to marry Demitruis
Theseus gives Hermia 3 choices. a. Death, b. marry Demitrius, c. Become a nun
Lysander's aunt has a bunch of money and thinks of him as a son. She lives 7 leagues from Athens and they can run away to there.
Helena learns of their plans and intends to tell Demetrius who btw flirted with Helena to begin with and "won her soul"
Scene 2
A group of blue-collar Athenian workmen meet to discuss putting on a play of Pyramus and Thisby (Romeo and Juliet) in celebration of the Duke's wedding.
Nick Bottom is a blowhard who bullies his friends, talks too much, and wants to do everything himself.
They assign parts and decide to meet in the woods so that they can practice in private.

Scene 1
Puck- Is the trickster, a Loki figure who doesn't
mean any harm but cause trouble
Titania and Oberon have been broken up and seeing
other people for over a year and she has a adopted
and he wants the boy-(Oberon is controlling)
Helena and Demetrius show up and he's looking for
Lysander and Hermia- Helena is begging him to love her
Helena tells Demetrius he can beat her like a dog,
but Demetrius just wants her to leave him alone
Oberon feels sorry for Helena and vows to change
Demetrius' feelings for her
Oberon tells Puck to fetch a flower that when
squeezed on sleeping eyelids will make that person
fall in love with the next live creature it sees
Oberon intends to use this flower on Titiania to get
her back for her disobedience to him and to get
Puck to use the flower on Demetrius (an Athenian lad)
to get him to love Helena
Scene 2
Oberon and Puck discuss what has
happened to Titana
Demetrius and Hermia enter and Hermia
is wondering what happened to Lysander
(it is now clear that Puck erred and magic
juiced the wrong Athenian)
Demetrius falls asleep after Hermia leaves
Oberon instructs Puck to find Helena
and Oberon charmes Demetrius' eyes
with the flower
Lysander and Helena show up, Demetrius
wakes up and sees Helena and falls in live
Helena thinks she's being pranked and the guys
are getting ready to fight and then the girls fight
too
Puck causes fog and uses his voice to confuse
Lysander and Demetrius until they are tires and go to sleep.
Then the fries cause the girls to find the guys
and they all fall asleep near each other.
Puck undoes the magic in Lysander's eyes
Act 3
Scene 1
1.The Mechanicals all meet the rehearse the play they discuss how to bring moonshine into the chamber and how to present a "wall"

Then there is another thing;
We must have a wall in the great chamber;
For Pyramus and Thisby, says the story, did
Talk through a chink in the wall.
