Townshend Duties 1767
-duties were introduced on the imports of glass, wine, china, lead, paint, paper and tea. These duties were light and expected to raise £40,000 annually.

Boston Tea Party - 342 chests of British tea thrown overboard which was worth around £10,000. The British response was to try and isolate Boston and Massachusetts and lock down the city.
