One day a couple soldiers captured two beautiful girls, Chryseis and Briseis. The High King got Chryseis (for she was the most gorgeous) and Briseis was given to Achilles, who had led the raid. Then Chryseis' father, who was a priest for Appolo begged for his daughter back, but the king said NO! Appolo ended up cursing the land and The king and Achilles got into a terrible fight which resulted in Achilles no longer fighting for Greece.

Chapter 4: Single Combat

In this chapter Paris challenged anyone to fight him and Menelaus stepped up. They decided that if Paris won the battle he would get Helen and the Greeks would have to leave, but if Menelaus won he would get to go home with Helen. This would be a fight to the death. Paris ended up winning with the help of Aphrodite.

Achilles had nursed his anger for too long and wasn't able to give forgiveness to the High King. He wouldn't fight until Hector was at his ship!

Chapter 11: Vengeance for Patroclus

Vengeance for Patroclus was about how Achilles reacted to
Patroclus's death. He was furious at hector and wanted revenge so he went out on the battlefield and slew. He killed and killed, until he got to the Scaean Gate. There he met Hector, who had killed Patroclus. Hector stood there until his courage ran out and he ran around the walls of Troy and three times around the sacred fig tree. Then he faced his doom. Achilles forced a spear through his neck then he tied Hector to his Chariot and rode into the battlefield. Hector's dead body twisted and turned as he it was dragged along.

Funeral Games was about Patroclus's burial service. Achilles ordered his servants to pile wood by the shore. There they put Patroclus's dead body on the pile. Then his companions, as well as Achilles, put locks of hair on Patroclus. They slew several cattle, 4 chariot horses, 2 of Achilles favorite hounds and 12 Trojans in Patroclus's honor and laid them on the wood pile as well. Then they threw torches in the pile so it burned. Lastly, Achilles held the funeral games (almost like a mini-olympics), according to the custom.

Chapter 13: Ransom for Hector

Ransom for Hector was about Achille's mother talking him into accepting the honorable ransom that the old king would pay for his son's body (Hector). So Achilles accepted his ransom and mourned with the king for Hector and for Patroclus. He made a truce with the king for 11 days so they could gold a funeral service, which the king and his family did. The keened, said the layment, etc. Finally they burned Hector's body on a pyre.
