As for the concept of fear in Persepolis, we can mention Marji fearing for her own life by living in anxiety all the time, and finding herself in a warfare where everyone is having their lives risked, and living in a miserable way. Another fear was her parent's fear on their daughter who was still young and supposed to have a brighter future. Due to their fear on her, and the fact that they hated seeing her being suppressed in such a country, she was sent by her parents to start a new life in Austria, and be treated the way she deserves to be.
