working effectively you need to be able to manage time

in businesses, time is money and every hour spent at work costs your employer a lot of money

good time management skills usually means the employee feels more in control of their work load

this means the employee is likely to find work less stressful and spend less time in the work place the necessary

good time mangement thereforew results in benifits for the employee and the employer

time mangagemet is not about how much time but how you spend it

time management techniques should ensure that:
-the best use is made of the time available
-time-wasting activities are minimised
-more time is available for important or urgent jobs

poor time management is usually shown by:
-getting less done than you expected
-an inability to meet deadlines set by your line manager
-spending much longer on some part of the job and then having insufficient time to do the rest

good time and task management techniques

1- end of every day by making a to-do list for the following day giving each task a priority and trying to note how long you expect to spend on the task:- Remember to stick to the list and tackle the task with high priority first

2- try to prioritise your tasks

3- At end of each day try to clear your desk

4- make sure you do the most difficult tasks in your prim time when you are at your best

5- try to handle papers, emails or tasks only once, ie read them, take any actions needed and file them

6- try to avoid being interrupted

7- make out going phone calls in a block

8- Do not put off difficult tasks or those you don't know how to do. ASK FOR HELP!

9- when you feel your concentration going and you know your not working effectively, move on to doing something else or take a 5 minute break

10- if possible, delegate tasks
