Use the 1 minute preparation time to make notes about

after you finish

you've talked about. You only need to
give a short answer to this question

Attention

Listen carefully to the introduction for each section and try to
imagine what the speakers will talk about. This witl give you
useful information about the situation and the speakers.
In the real test, you have time at the beginning of each section
to look at the task. Use this time well to read the questions and
think about the topics.
When you read the question, you may find it helpful to think of
words to listen for which have a similar meaning.

Think about whether the missing word is a verb,
a noun, etc.

flow-chart completion
Look at how each part in the flow chart follows on from

you follow the information

summary completion
Read the words surrounding the gaps in the summary
"J carefully. Think about whether the missing word is a verb,
a noun, etc. You must write the exact word as it appears
sentence completion
Make sure the completed sentence is grammatically
W accurate and has the same meaning as the text. You will not
have to change any of the words in the text, so make sure
you use exactly the same ones.
table completion
Look at the headings and key words in the table and
W scan the text for them. Then read that part of the text
carefully.

Note that the questions in most tasks follow the order of the
information in the text, but in some they don't (e.g. summary/
note/table completion).
