J.S Woodsworth:
Advocate for working men and women in Canada. One of the main
personalities involved in the strike, later helped establish the Labour Party
in Canada (sat in Parliament for Winnipeg-North). Later in the 1920s
established the Co-Operative Commonwealth Federation (CCF) which is the
present day NDP party.
Royal North-West Mounted Police (RNWMP):
Now called the RCMP (and the main criminal force in all provinces but
Ontario and Quebec), the RNWMP was brought in to act at the main police
force during the strike (to replace those from the Winnipeg force)
Inflation:
Can be described as an overall rise in the price of goods and services for a given period of time.Often it is measured in terms of a sample collection of standard goods purchased by most people in society
Unemployment:
A term used to describe people who are able and actively seeking work,
but unable to find a suitable job.

“Bloody Saturday”:
The RNWMP charged rioters, the day ended with one person dead, many
others injured. Happened June 21st 1919.
