Control Mechanisms
Thermoregulation in endotherms
The animal creates its own body heat
Every cell in the body produces heat
Heat is spread round the body by the blood
Core temprature is regulated by homothalamus
The body can regulate hat by shaking or respiration
Thermoregulation in ectotherms
Use their environment to regulate their body temprature
Usually live in consistent temperatures eg the tropics
Oftern bask in sun
Homostasis
The body attempting to maintain a constant and balanced internal enviroment
Monitored by receptors, the control centre and effectors
The receptors receive information for example the environment is cold around the subject
The control center receives the information and decides what to do
The effectors will treat the stimuli effectively eg shaking

Negative feedback loops
When scensory fibers react to a stimuli involuntary
Positive feedback loops
when the stimuli is less than the reactant
