The majority of victims were Italians but also anticommunist , croats and slovens were killed

The estimate is several thousands citizens killed and about 350000 refuges who seeped to Italy.
why?
Because Tito wanted to eliminate Italian people and political opponents from Yugoslavia. He was responsible for the ethnical cleansing of the Italians and the carnage which took place in Yugoslav ia and in some parts of Italy (on the borders)
The name "Foibe" come from pits deeper than several hundreds metres.
What happened there?
Some victims were assassinated by hard pushed to Foibe but most people were killed in concentration camps and than pushed down into Foibe. It's impossible to extract all the thousands of corpses from Forbes because some of theme are deeper than several hundreds metres. We have been able to extract just a small number of bodies, less than six hundreds.
It lasted 4 years

The killings began in 1943 and continued until 1947.

Yes,in 2004, Giorgio Napolitano, declareted the memorial day of Foibe (10th february)
