Step 3: Manager of Goals Soccer Centre
Manage Staff Rota
Allocate Staff Times
Before you can allocate staff times, the manager needs to know every staff members availability
If coincidentally, all staff members cannot work at the same time, there could be a case of hiring external qualified staff members from another Goals Soccer Centre
Make sure staff do not get mixed up with shift patterns
Labelling clearly on the shift rota, once availability has been confirmed, who is working where and when. Clear concise information reduces confusion between employees.
Staff members get mixed up with rota shifts, leading to confusion
Financial Analysis
Check budget control
Before the budget is spent on existing stock, there needs to be a stock control, which will allow the manager to know what stock needs updating.
Budgeting should go accordingly to the stock control. Where stock needs to be brought in, money can be used. The manager may want to think about changing supplier to cut costs.
Make sure there is not an overspend on the budget. Could possibly be done by getting approval from other management, before spending monies on resources.
An overspend on the budget, which could possibly lead to the worse case scenario such as bankruptcy
Pre-Health & Safety Checks
Check all resources are in standard form
Checking all resources are working before hand will prove to be key. Before doors are open and customers are let in, the playing fields, the lights, the booking system etc. needs to be functioning properly. Failure to function will mean customers will not enjoy their experience. Ultimately resulting in a cash loss.
Mark off against standard checklist
Marking off against the checklist will allow the system (manager) to know what he has done, and what he intends to do. Keeping a checklist whilst doing the tasks will prove to be efficient.
Close facility until issue has been fixed.
Post-Health & Safety Checks
Check all resources are in standard form
Once all the resources have been used by the customers, the staff must make sure everything Is back to standard form, ready for the next business working day.
Checking can be done in the format of a checklist. The main thing to check at Goals Soccer Centre would be the availability of the first aid equipment. The equipment must be refilled in case of an emergency
Check that the booking system is working correctly. All Pitch inspections must be done accordingly to standards too.
Close the centre. Re-open once the problem has been fixed.
Environmental Checks
Recycling the right waste
The manager can either pass on instructions on how to recycle, illustrate it in the training schemes, or hand out leaflets. Recycling waste must go in the desirable coloured bins.
Litter picking, generic tidying up of facility.
Everyone can take in turns to little pick and make the working environment a cleaner place. There is not a job role to solely pick up litter, hence the passing around of the job.
Outsourcing cleaners if needs be
Delegate Responsibilities
Checking back & forth on the task table
Checking back and forth on the task table relates to the shift rota. The shift rota will also have a sub-section on who is meant to be doing what and when. It Is imperative that every staff member has the basic capabilities to do every single job, hence the training that is offered.
Ensuring every staff member is prompted on what tasks they need to do.
Each staff will have a handbook. In that handbook, it will contain what tasks should be done on a daily basis and how each task should be done. The handbook will also include emergency numbers in case of an emergency.
Additional training for staff members if needed.
Organise Events
Communicate with all parties regarding events
Communication with all customers and staff members requiring an upcoming event, must be clear on concise. Staff members need to be well prepped for the event, which will allow a smoothness of things.
Make sure all resources are functioning
Well functioning resources before the Event occurs must be checked. Any resources which are not up to standard must either be fixed or replaced before the event gets underway.
Let participants know off any potential issues
Training Staff
Cannot work under premises until they have been trained the basics
Training staff members accordingly to the code of conduct
Staff members will be trained as a whole, as a result of this, premises may be closed due to staff training days
Training staff members will happen either onsite or offsite
Staff members will be given a handbook whilst on training. The staff handbook will contain a list of procedures and rules expected to be followed whilst working.
