TOURISM AREA LIFE CYCLE(TALC) at PENANG
1) EXPLORATION
There are many attracted places at Penang. For example the natural places, beach , island, hill and so on. So this are some opportunities Penang able to growth in future.
3) DEVELOPMENT
The number of tourists keep increasing. My family and I also included in this tours. In my observation, the host communities who provide facilities may decreased,this is because it being superseded by larger organization, more elaborate, and more up to date facilities provided by large organizations,such as to provide visitor accommodations.
The local resident welcomes tourists to their place.
Several popular place at Penang
4) CONSOLIDATION
The large number of tourists and there are more facilities provided to them make the local resident felt discontent. In this situation, local resident do not want to receive a tourists because they feel powerless and loss of control.
The environmental degradation of the tourists begins to be obvious and worrying.
5) STAGNATION
On my observation,after full development done in Penang, the number of tourist come to that place remain decrease. On this situation, the host on that place must take and action either make
REJUVENATION
or let the place
DECLINE
:
a) REJUVENATION
The host government and host community need to settle the controversial between local residents and tourists. They also need to create attractive activities to attract tourists attend to Penang again.
b) DECLINE
The host government and community on that place let the tourism area closed.
2) INVOLVEMENT
Many tourists start to visit Penang because of it natural attractions especially backpackers. The host community aware of the rising number of tourists,they prepare a home stay to them.
Government and many agencies also start planning to take apart to built a accommodation, food and beverage and other facilities. There are several areas opened as a tourism place.(e.g Bukit Bendera, Penang Escape Theme Park , Batu Ferringghi Beach and etc)
