Why is it important to have a lot of paintings ?
All people went to the church, even peasants. Not all people understood latin. Prayers and bibles are in latin. The peasants and people who didn't know latin rely on paintings and pictures to understand God's message.
The doomsday painting is a painting that illustrates how sinners go to hell and how people who did good deeds went to heaven. They showed a lot of how sinners are tortured in hell, but they didn't show much of heaven, just angles help people up the ladder. The picture mostly showed hell, because the gruesome pictures made the people fear hell, which made them obedient, because they didn't want to go the hell.
They were castles used by the normans

It is a castle that is mostly temporary, built for speed.
Bailey : Area where the soldiers lived. There are horse stables, armoury.
Motte : Sometimes man made mound of earth. The main castle is built on the Motte.
Moat : The moat is a river that surrounds the whole Motte and Bailey. It is used to keep horses from charging in.
Draw Bridge : It is a bridge that is built across the moat. It can be drew back and forth.
The doomsday book is a book that records the property of all the people of England. It records all the land, animals, crops and property of the people of England.
