CAUSES
White Spot Disease (WSD)
This disease cause mass mortality to culture stock of shrimp
This disease can wipe out the stock w/n 3-10 days after onset the sign
Especially on juvenile shrimps in all age and sizes
Eg: Black tiger shrimps that infected by WSD
The White Spot are abnormal deposits of Calcium Salts
Shown sign such as Red Discoloration and White Spot
On the Surface inside Carapaces
CONTROLS
Use Shrimp Post Larvae
To confirm the shrimp are free from White Spot Syndrome Virus (WSSV) Via PCR analysis
Use Specific Pathogen Free (SPF) bloodstock in hatchery operation
Provide Bio Security Measure
Eg: Fencing & Netting Pond
To prevent entry vectors
To prevent entry carriers into culture ponds
Promote Environment Friendly Culture Practices
Eg: Proper Waste Disposal
