pollution also comes from traffic and increased sewage production
Sewage from the hotels may also lead to water pollution especially if not treated before entering an open water source
deforestation may also take place for land clearing or collection of fuel wood
loss of natural habitat and increased soil erosion
There is also a depletion of natural resources such as fresh water, swimming pools etc. causing things such as water shortages to happen to locals
coral reefs are in endangerment, one of the reasons being tourism
Anchoring, snorkelling, and other marine activities can also harm the coral
Land degradation buildings and areas created for tourism effect the soil and it's fertility as well as placing pressure on the natural resources
Visual pollution- Hotels and big buildings may take away from the natural beauty of the region/area
unattractive coastal defences such as sea walls or groynes may contribute to visual pollution
Littering as some tourists do not dispose of their waste properly
