When the war broke out Jones entered the war

Jones most famous victory was the capture of British warships serapes

Jones had a flagship named Bonhomme Richard but it was wiped out by British.

Clark launched an attack it was one one of surprise on Fort Sackville

150 men endured an 18 day march through freezing water

George Rogers Clark was the leader of this attack

Brutal Fighting

The southerner's wars were the extremely brutal

Georgia was the last colony to fall where as Savannah fell easily at the hands of 3,500 redcoats

Failed attack

The man who had launched the attack Nathaniel Greene was discouraged he had around 4,000 men and only 700 were still alive

This attack was poorly executed hence the name failed attack

British destroyed much as they were marching through the south such as crops, property, and farm animals.

Half as many men were there than they expected and most were tired and hungry

Guerrilla Warfare

Francis Marion was the best at this fight style he devised a group called Marion's Brigade.

Marion's Brigade used surprise attacks in order to disrupt British communications
