Skeletal System
You need to complete 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 of the following stations to be able to work on the large skeleton
Muscular System
You must complete 4/4 stations to do the Build a Bicep Design Challenge and have both skeletal and muscular system passport pages filled out and stamped.
Chicken Wing Dissection - Create a project that explains how the skeletal and muscular systems work together. Use evidence from our dissection to explain. (4 days to complete)
Station 3 - In schoology - look at the pictures of the slides showing different types of muscles - post to the padlet link in schoology - one similarity and one difference you see between the different types of cells.
Station 2 - Watch the video Types of Muscles and Keeping your muscles healthy - draw a picture of what you learned.
Station 1: Reading - What is the muscular system - read in DE. Add to your Cornell Notes - check your notes against schoology questions.
Station 4: Workout station - Heartily Fit- complete the workouts as directed on the sheets at your table. Record in your notebook the type of muscle and name of the muscle you were using and how you feel after your have exercised them.

Station 1 - Reading - functions and organs - take Cornell notes in your science notebooks. Questions to check your notes against are posted in schoology. Get a partner to check your notes for the answers. Go back and add to your notes if they incomplete.
Station 2 - Watch the Movie - Bones on Discovery Education - Add to your Cornell Notes - check your notes against schoology questions.
Station 3 - Movie - skeleton and cartilage in Discovery Ed- shock absorptions - Add to your Cornell Notes - check your notes against schoology questions.
Station 4 - Coloring sheet for bone - Get the half sheet of paper from the Gray folder and color the bone as directed. Match the vocabulary words with the definitions and then check with teacher before copying into your notebook.
Station 5- Joint Puzzle - at your station, complete the puzzle, make sure to check your picture against the function and your notes to make sure you are correct. Take a picture of your completed puzzle, turn in to schoology.

Advanced Option: Create Large Skeleton - directions are on schoology. Materials are found in yellow folder. Can only be completed after stations 1-6.
Station 6: Look at three types of bone cells and post to the padlet - one similarity and difference you see between the cells.

Station 2: Coloring and label the steps of the digestive system as directed. Check schoology - for directions.
Station 1 - Discovery Ed reading. Directions and links are in schoology. Add to your Cornell Notes - check your notes against schoology questions.
Station 3: Watch one of the two videos from below and add to your Cornell Notes. 1.Kid's Health 2 Real World Science.
Advanced Challenge: Create a project for an elementary student that follows the path of a bean through the digestive system.

Wrap Up: record your learning in your passport, get it stamped by your teacher.

Write a CER that explains how the digestive and excretory systems work together. Use evidence from your learning to demonstrate your knowledge. (Summative)
Station 4: Research - Check schoology for the assignment - stomach, small intestines, liver, pancreas, gall bladder
Station 5: Cell station - look at the photos in schoology and prepare your own cheek cell. Then describe the similarities and differences, between two different types of cells in the discussion.
