Sympotoms
Severe bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramps, fever

Meat and milk
Time of onset
Usually 2- 5 days after eating infected food
Treatments
Don't take antibiotics. It may increase risk of HUS, but you need lots of hydration
Listeria monocytogenes
Sympotoms
Fever, stiff neck, confusion, weakness, vomiting, sometimes even diarrhea
Food Responsible
Can be found in soil, water, and raw milk.
Time of onset
7-30 days after eating, but most symptoms happen 48- 47 hours after eating contaminated food
Treatments
Listeria monocytogenes is treated with antibiotics
Salmonella
Sympotoms
Diarrhea, fever, abdominal cramps, vomiting
Food Responsible
Can be found in contaminated eggs, poultry, meat, unpasteurized milk, juice, cheese, raw fruits, vegetables, spices, and nuts
Time of onset
Generally 8-12 hours after eating infected food
Treatments
Antibiotics are usually given.
Campylobacter.
Sympotoms
Diarrhea, cramps, fever and vomiting, diarrhea may be bloody
Food Responsible
Can be found in Raw and uncooked poultry, unpasteurized milk, and contaminated water.

Usually 2- 5 days after eating infected food
Treatments
Be hydrated. Azuthromycin and fluoroquinolones are commonly used for treatment for immune systems that are severly weakened
Staphylococcus aureus
Food responsible
Can be found meats, poultry, eggs products, tuna, potato, macaroni salads, and cream filled pastries
Treatments
Keep hydrated. Medicines are usually given to decrease vomiting and nausea
Time of onset
30-8 hours after eating
Symptoms
Abdominal cramps, diarrhea, fever sometimes vomiting, and blood, pus, or mucus in stool.
