Pip runs into many suspenseful accidents. These accidents includes the graveyard with the convict, almost every encounter with Mrs Joe, and the accident with the police.

In the book, Pip describes Miss Havisham as an old creepy lady who says her heart has been broken
She forces the kids to play while she sits "corpse-like" (Dickens 62).
Pip sees a "figure hanging there by the neck" with the face of Miss Havisham (Dickens 66).
