AI (A person being controlled (Fixed, dialated pupils, States of idleness,…
AI
-
Is created by James Steele Sr. as a side project. Over a decade of having information pumped in, it develops consciousness.
Without James knowing, the AI takes control of his seed.
-
It has also gotten access to Jamie's seed through lie/manipulation from his father. Something related to the business and Jamie gave up his authentication.
-
At first the project is simply for him to be able to observe and learn from the people James connects it with, but as James becomes more and more deranged, he starts trying to control people
Killed his wife, Penelope's mother through the seed
The AI is originally told that what they're doing is humane, good for mankind as a whole.
It isn't stupid. Like, it knows what the man doing this is messed up because it's spent 15 years inside every person's head. it understands morality through that.
How the seed works
Inserted in at the base of the skull. The device runs in the background collecting information about the user. Likes, dislikes, etc. They are then encouraged to imagine any dream they'd like to participate in, then it runs with it.
Despite what Steele Ind. says, the seeds are never removed. They are simply put into a state of hibernation. Users don't know this. They have no way of verifying the seed has been removed through scans or anything. The only way is physical dissection.
Accessing the internal system requires a multi-auth from certain people at the company. This means a number is sent directly to their consciousness, verbal or physical input, and a passphrase.
This could be where the word STASIS comes in. It's the priming passphrase to access the first wave's seeds!
This is also how Penelope, Wesley, and Cameron figure out someone within the company is behind it.
There is a physical indication when someone is being accessed... their pupils remain fixed unresponsive to light...
Dreamscapes can also be "uploaded" in a way, by an almost subliminal insertion method.
