Yes there could be allergic reactions but think about all of the other people that you could save with all of that harsh climate resistant GMO but there are more then one person you can save. There is a little story/question that goes like this: there are 5 people working on a railroad track to be more precise a switch off, so there is 3 people working on one side and 2 people working on the other side the one with two people are your closest friends and there is a train coming full speed and there isn't enough time to stop and save everyone and you can't tell them that there is a train will you switch it to the right side where there is 3 people or the one with 2 people?
Though that is true, GMOs can still be more expensive! They can also have side effects to the eater!
Yes I totally agree with you, but have you considered the new technology that scientist that have been making new breakthroughs they can modify the DNA to fix the problem and maybe even make it healthier.
