Acoustics studies the production, transmission, storage, perception, and
reproduction of sound.

Audio Formats
The wrappers (containers) that organize information related with digital audio (headers, artwork, settings). A wrapper normally uses various codes.
The codecs (coder and decoder) are the algorithms used to code the information of a sound inside of a audio file.

What is sound?
Objective: physical phenomena result of contractions and expansions of air that hit the surrounding space.
Subjective: auditory sensation capturing variations of pressure that are sent to the brain for interpretation.
Analog Sound
Analog means same or similar. There is no information loss, compression, or processing. Therefore, the sound sounds similar.
SONAR: High pitched sounds that disperse in the environment, bounce off of obstacles, and are recognized by sensitive membranes (found in some animals).
