inquiry and construction of meaning
authentic experiences: we try to plan relevant excursions and activities so that students feel a real connection with learning
our grade level team reflects during weekly planning meetings and at the end of each Unit
consolidation: at the end of the unit the students are encouraged to take action by communicating their learning with the community
provocations: we are dedicated to sparking student interest with exciting and relevant provocations.
exploration of conceptually based ideas

learner profile
our mission and values align with the PYP learner profile values and attitudes. These are integrated into taught, written, and assessed curriculumm
student understanding of a central idea and lines of inquiry
We are a play inquiry school, we follow the backwards design model, have four transciplinary themes per year, with 2-3 lines of inquiry per theme.
collaboration
Our school stresses the importance of collaboration by having grade level planning meetings on a weekly basis. Units are planned with specialists and principals (small school, coordinators will join our school next year)
