The sisters prepare for an evening out

Stanley is furious at the loss of Belle Reve

Blanche flirts with stanley

Blanche learns that Stella is pregnant

In this scene Stanleys antagonism to blance grows, as do his suspicions of her

Both the motive and the means for blanche's destruction come to light

Scene Structure

1st we have Stella instructing Stanley on how to treat Blanche & telling him the loss of Belle Reve - causing Stanley to be angered by the thought swindled and then is infuriated by his wife mocking him Blanches wardrobe

2nd part of the scene starts with blanche making an appearance in her red robe. Her manner makes Stanley think that her provoactive nature is more fitting of a prostitute than a school teacher and makes him wonder about her past

The red robe and flirting is liniked to the scarlet women of the Bible
