Design Principles
Balance
The design must be in visual equilibrium and thus, consideration must be given to the distribution of parts.
-
Emphasis
The function of the product may mean more priority is placed on certain parts. Thus, emphasising these parts may improve the aesthetic value of the design.

-
Rhythm
May be appropriate if the budget and time allows. It also must not affect the durability of the product.
-
Proportion
Individual components will be quite small due to the dimensional parameters of the project, but consideration must still be given. If it is not, the functionality of the project may be inversely affected.
-
Harmony
Will not be an issue as the product will require all of its parts to work in harmony in order to achieve its function.
