Blue hat(process): I will visit the college to make sure it’s a good fit for me, apply and get accepted, move to Austin, graduate with a degree, and have a good career right after attending this college.
Green hat(creativity): Living in-state could be difficult, living close to my family, but living in a dorm or apartment would give me my own sense of responsibility and space from my parents. Living slightly off campus would be good for me, so I wouldn’t be as tempted to go to parties. I could stay home and do my work so I don’t get too distracted, but parties would be easily accessible if I needed to get away for a little while.
White hat(facts): The University of Texas-Austin has the best ranking out of my 3 college choices (#30 global ranking). It also has the cheapest tuition out of my 3 choices ($10,110 in-state)
Yellow hat(benefits): This is a great college choice. It is the only in-state option I picked, therefore, it has the lowest tuition cost. The college has many options for major programs as well as a great student body.
Red hat(feelings): I have visited the University of Texas-Austin several times and I love the campus and location. Being close to home could be a good or bad thing, but I don’t know if I can mentally prepare myself for living so close to them, knowing they could come and cheack on me at anytime.
Black hat(cautions): The university of Texas-Austin is in the same state all my family lives in, so I don’t know if it will be an option that is far enough away from home. I need to get away to change the scenery and learn to be responsible without being by my parents side. Also, the college is in a major city, so I think I would get too easily distracted with parties and going out instead of getting my work done.
Blue hat(process): I will visit the college to make sure it’s a good fit for me, apply and get accepted, move to Florida, graduate with a degree, and have a good career right after attending this college.
Green hat(creativity): If I choose to attend this college, I will make sure my test scores are high enough I could get more money to help pay for the expensive tuition. Also, in terms of coming back to Texas to visit my family, I can limit how many times I come to visit. I should only visit maybe twice a year and travel by car, a cheaper alternative to flying.
White hat(facts): Florida State University has a great ranking (#169 global ranking). Tuition for out-of-state students is $21,673.
Yellow hat(benefits): University of Florida has a great ranking and has many options for majors. Since it is an out-of-state college, I would be able to get away from my parents and learn how to be responsible on my own. The acceptance scores are achievable, therefore, if I can get a high score on my tests I may be more likely to get higher amounts of financial aid.
Red hat(feelings): I love Florida, it is a very beautiful state and I would love to attend college in the state. Based on my dad’s experience living in Florida it sounds amazing and I would love to have the same great experiences during my college career.
Black hat(cautions): The cost may be too high to afford, as it is an out of state college. Also being out of state, I will be far from my family and pay more to travel back for the holidays.
Blue hat(process): I will visit the college to make sure it’s a good fit for me, apply and get accepted, move to Georgia, graduate with a degree, and have a good career right after attending this college.
Green hat(creativity): To help with the very high tuition costs I will need outstanding test scores and get accepted with a full ride or high need met. As another out-of-state college, I can travel back home less frequently by car to save my extra money.
White hat(facts): It is an okay college in terms of ranking (#245 global rating). Out-of-state tuition is also very pricey ($29,844).
Yellow hat(benefits): The university is in Georgia, close to Atlanta, so when I want to get away I can take a trip to Atlanta to have fun and clear my mind. They also have many choices for major programs.
Red hat(feelings): I have seen pictures of the college and in my opinion it is a beautiful campus. I would to get away from home but live close to the city.
Black hat(cautions): Just like any other out of state college the cost may be too high to afford. Also being out of state, I will be far from my family and spend more money to travel back for the holidays.
