Recombinant coagulation factors
Cell-based model of hemostasis
Amplification
(1)Thrombin diffuses rom TF-cells and activates platelets
(2)Exposure of receptors and binding sites to activated cotting factors
(3) Once platelets are activated, release of granule content further recruits additional platelets leading to propagation phase on activated platelets
Propagation
A burst of thrombin generation of sufficient magnitude leads to clotting of fibriogen thats conveted in fibrin
Initiation
(1)TF-expressing cell located outside vasculature bind factor VIIa when exposed to blood
(2)TF-VIIa complex activates factor VII, IX and X
(3) Factor Xa binds factor Va and form prothrombinase
(4)Protrombinase cleaves prothrombin into thrombin
Termination
The clotting cascade is terminated to prevent excessive clotting
