**advocacy
Advocacy journalism is a type of journalism that intentionally and transparently adopts a non-objective point of view. It is intended to be factual and further a cause.
Peace Journalism
This type of journalism is when editors/reporters make choices about what to report, and how to report it. This creates opportunities for society to consider and value non-violent responses to conflict.
Shows backgrounds and context of conflicts and at the same time hears from all sides. Explores hidden agendas and highlights peace ideas from anywhere at any time.
Instead of looking towards violence to resolve issues peace journalism wants to give the opportunity for everyone to do things peacefully.
The opposite of war journalism, which focuses on violence and has a tendency to only see conflict in matters.

Solutions Journalism
This type of journalism focuses on the responses to social issues and the problems as well. It focuses on all the aspects of a social issue and tries to present a true and complete narrative.
Solutions Journalism Network: support and connect journalists interested in doing solutions journalism, rigorous reporting about how people are responding to problems.
(1) advising and supporting media outlets around the country in creating high-impact solutions reporting projects; (2) developing educational tools and resources to build journalists' skills in solutions reporting and editing; and (3) connecting and supporting those interested in how social problems are being solved.
Solutions journalism supporters believe that it provides an important feedback system that allows society to see credible possibilities and respond more successfully to emerging challenges.
Solutions journalism is rigorous, evidence-based reporting on the responses to social problems. Solutions stories can take many forms, but they share several key characteristics.
identifying the root causes of a social problem; prominently highlight a response, or responses, to that problem; present evidence of the impact of that response; and explain how and why the response is working, or not working When possible, solutions stories also present an insight that helps people better understand how complex systems work, and how they can be improved.
Global Journalism
Global Journalism: a type of work that centers on events around the world.
Rather than having American media explain what goes on in the rest of the world through one lense, people can see through the perspective of the native journalist.

We must report the whole story and not stop at the deficiency. when looking for solutions in journalism
The media outlets must provide credible stories that helps the public believe in progress
we must stop oversimplifying stories
instead of hero orientated stories of good and bad news which are simplified, we must have stories that show society how problems are being addressed
help society see opportunity as well as risks
