Dynamos
A voltage is produced when a magnet moves in a coil of wire. This process is called electromagnetic induction.
Generators induce a current by spinning a coil of wire inside a magnetic field,
Bicycle Dynamo
-
As the bicycle moves, the wheel turns a magnet inside a coil. This induces enough electricity to run the bicycle's lights.
The faster the bicycle moves, the greater the induced voltage - and the brighter the lights.
Transformers
-
Primary voltage divided by the secondary voltage equals the primary turns dived by the secondary turns
