Cell death or an area of tissue/organ necrosis caused by ischemia. Prolonged reduction of arterial flow by thrombosis, embolism, dissection
Can also be caused by spasms (vasospasm), torsions, extrinsic compression (muscle bridging, pericarditis, etc) or the vessels can cause infarct.
