      - Parietal Cells -> HCL which digests food and breaks it down further + Intrinsic factor which binds to B12 and makes it more easily absorbable in the terminal ileum. The parietal cells also produce and release bicarbonate ions in response to histamine release from the nearby ECLs, and so serve a crucial role in the pH buffering system
