Chapter 1: The Mystery of the Church
Section 1
The Sacred Synod proclaims the Gospel to every creature in order to bring them the light of Christ
In the same way, Christ brought about the Church through his words and deeds
The Church desires to unite the whole world in one universal mission
Section 3
By inaugurating God's Kingdom on heaven and Earth, the Church is considered the Kingdom of Christ
The Church grows through the power of God in the world and everyone is called to be in union with Christ
Therefore the Church is a "was" reality through Jesus Christ
Section 8
The Church is formed as one complex reality from both divine and human elements.
The Church is to follow Christ in that he carried out the work of redemption in poverty. To do this, the Church requires human resources to proclaim humility and self-sacrifice
The Church encompasses the suffering and poor with love and relieves their needs just as Jesus came to atone for all of humanity's sins
Section 2
God offers man help for salvation despite their fallen nature
God's plan for the Church was planned since He created the world
The Church was prepared throughout history and, currently, is constituted as a whole
Section 4
The Holy Spirit made the Church holy and therefore gave access to God through Jesus
In this way, the Church is the reason the Kingdom of God is an "is" reality
Section 5
The Kingdom of God is open to men in the word, works, and presence of Jesus.
When Jesus rose from the cross, he poured the Holy Spirit upon his disciples and the Church then receive the mission to spread the Kingdom of God on earth
Section 6
The Kingdom of God is described by using metaphors
The Church is like a flock of sheep because God's sheep (us) are nourished and led by Christ
With all of the metaphors, the Church is always nourished and cared for by God
Section 7
Man was remade after the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and is called together to form the body of Christ
Since we are all a part of the Christ's body, we are all united and faithful to Christ
Jesus is the Head of the Body of Christ because he is before all other creature and therefore is the head of the Church. He fills the church with divine gifts so that we grow unto him
