Roald Amundsen

Roald was the first person to go to the South Pole. He arrived there on 14 December 1911. He led the Antarctic expedition of 1910–12 which was the first to reach the South Pole. He also reached the North Pole, but was not the first person. He is sometimes known as the first person to have visited both poles. Roald was first man on a ship called Belgica
