Slavery used to get resources such as coal, cotton and sugar #
Need for faster, more efficient production in factories
Inventions such as spinning jennies, power looms and steam power made factory work more efficient and required less people to run them

A group of people called the Luddites opposed machines taking over people's jobs, and protested by smashing machines and threatening factory owners

Were the horrible conditions for workers during the industrial revolution an equal trade off for the technological advancements made during the time?
The British acted opposed to slavery, but then had people working in slave-like conditions in their factories

The British Empire owned more than 23% of Earths land, therefore they believed it was the largest and most powerful empire. However, it was in competition with the Mongol Empire, as some believed it was larger.

CAUSE: The Europeans were one of the first to group together and build shelters, close to each other.
EFFECT: That meant they could share ideas, which lead to discovering other places and people. #

SIGNIFICANCE: They were the cause to the civilisation of Australia as the current nation would not be what it was today if they had not come to Australia or if another race colonized it instead.

PERSPECTIVE: The Aborigines suffered the most as they were the ones who inhabited the land first but were invaded by the Europeans.

CHANGE: The Aborigines and Europeans were able to subside the number of violent conflicts over the years.
EFFECT:The continuous conflicts are becoming less frequent and bonds are forming between the natives and Australians.
CONTESTABILITY: There has been a long discussion whether the Europeans invaded or settled in Australia.
