Sacrament of Confirmation
(CCCC nos. 265-270)
It leads to Salvation (no. 265)
that may also come with other effects (no. 268)
and have a special outpouring of the Holy Spirit like that of Pentecost
and impresses the sacramental character
that produces growth in the grace of Baptism
that helps root the recipient more deeply in divine sonship
like binding the receiver more firmly to Christ and to the Church
which also gives him a special strength to witness Christian faith
It is celebrated in a way that differs from the East and the West
wherein, in Eastern Churches of the Byzantine, other body parts are anointed
and the words are "The seal of the gift of the Holy Spirit"
in which, Western tradition is done by anointing on the forehead
wherein the words that are stated are "Be sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit"
though it still has the essential rite of anointing using Sacred Chrism (no. 267)
which points to its other name, "Chrismation" (no. 266)
For its occurance, we need
RECIPIENTS (no. 269)
which are the baptized
who can receive it efficaciously if he is in a state of grace
ministers (no. 270)
which are usually Bishops
who manifests the link between the confirmed and the Church
who can sometimes be Priests
which is ordinary in the East but a special case in the West
whom expresses the link between the Bishop and the Church
GOD, who is the source of all grace transferred thru the sacraments
It follows after the sacrament of Baptism
since it can only happen after a person is baptized
an example is when the Apostles only gave the gift of the Holy Spirit to the newly baptized
