Battle of concord
Battle between the British and the Patriots - British were trying to get the Patriots armed stash. Citizens had been warned and they were ready. This is where the "shot heard around the world" happened. The British were forced to retreat.
Second continental congress
May 1775 - second meeting of the colonies; they still aren't unified, but this is the first attempt as a republican government for the colonies.
Continental war
The colonies established the continental army at the second continental congress this is the official army of the colonies. George Washington was the commander of this army

The first continental congress demanded certain rights from Great Britain. Armed conflict between British soldiers and colonists broke out with "the shot heard around the world"

Causes of the Revolution
The king was in debt because of the war and he needed to finance the British troops so he made taxes which taxed the colonists on different things

The king took control over the trading and made strict rules on it.

Instead of a king they thought of something called a president to listen to peoples choices and to help make better laws

They were kind enough to pay for the old kings debt from the french and Indian war
America will not punish loyalists
They were also kind enough to not punish the loyalists since it is a free country now so they want peace and not war
Advantages of the Patriots
Their advantages they had in the war were
They didn't wear bright colors so they can blend in with their surroundings
They had new fighting skills that were better than what the British skills were
They didn't get their supplies stolen from the British
