King George iii was obviously the King of Great Britain and Ireland, and that was his "military" status I would say.
Causes of the Revolution
The Boston Massacre, where colonists in Boston were shot after taunting British soldiers.
Samuel Adams and Paul Revere led patriots (the sons of liberty) in throwing tea into Boston harbor to protest tea taxes.
The King imposed taxes on the colonists. He then refused to listen to what the colonists had to say about it.
King George was born on June, 4, 1738, and he died on Jan. , 29, 1820.

It set new territory boundaries for the U.S
America agrees to pay all existing war debts.
America is officially recognized as a free and independent nation.
America will not punish Loyalists in the colonies.

Objectives of Continental Congress:
-Compose a state of colonial rights
-Identify British parliaments violation of those rights
Provide a plan that would convince Britain to restore rights.
The Battle of Lexington: Battle between the British and the patriots this was a small skirmish, British won with only one wounded, and continued the march to Concord.
First Continental Congress: A gathering of colonial leaders trying to decide what to do about Britain.
Advantages of the Patriots
The Patriots had strong leaders, some of which that include: Paul Revere, George Washington, and Benjamin Franklin.
Ben Franklin spent 2 years in France trying to convince the French to help the Continental army defeat the British.
The French sent over men, supplies, and most importantly, their navy. The Patriots have never had a navy, so suddenly obtaining a decent navy on their side, was a huge accomplishment.
