German School Hours
They have fees based on the income of the family
They do not offer extracorriculer activitys
School goes from 8am to 1pm

Ages 12-18 or 19
If you fail two subject you have to restart your whole year
Gymnasium is just like high school
Cannot repeat the same grade in the same school
No summer school
seventh graders have to choose a Zweig

Also international school at which these schools are taught in english

Students take final exam
Gesamtschule is a school with all students with different abbilitys
High School in Germany
Their school is just like elementary school-High school
In the fourth year , they determine if you go to Hauptschule
They are placed in different school according to their academic abilities
School Holidays in Germany
one week of autumn vacation
two weeks of winter/christmas vacation
six weeks of sumer vacation
two weeks or easter, spring break
Hauptschule
Teaches basic skills
After Hauptschule they go to a vocational school
the final year of elementary school they are send to Hauptschule
Realschule
If they have high enough grades they are send to Gymnasium
After six years they graduate with a diploma in Mittlere Reife
Prepares students for mid-level job in buisness
Berufskollegs
Berufskollegs are for students 16-19
economics and specific business studies are taught
