How to use the flash

First,take a few test shots with the flash, and then without the flash and compare the results.
If your subject is in shadow, you will need to use the flash or you will not be able to see his or her face.
Most people think that they do not need to use the flash when taking photos outdoors during the day.That is not always true.

Depending on your camera, you might want to check and make sure you have enough storage space.For example, with a 2megapixel camera,you could get a 64MB card but if you have a 5megapixel camera and you plan to take a lot of photos, get a 1GB card

Use a tripod

When you have poor lighting , a tripod will help to steady the camera.
If you are trying to take photo of night scene, it helps to have a tripod so that you can keep the camera still, slow down the exposure, and allow sufficient light to enter the camera.

Choose the macro mode before you take close-ups,focus the camera and then shoot.You should be able to take a photo with a sharp image
Hold your camera level
If your camera viewfinder comes with horizontal lines or a frame, make use of it to frame your shots.
