Building Diversity to take advantage of the growing demographic trends
Adding diverse workforce member's that have bilingual members, cultural experts
has lead to new professional and managerial opportunities for women and people of color
However this has lead to the paradigm being one that only looks at the difference in diverse company staff without analyzing the diffrancese to see how they actually effect the work
The Emerging Paradigm: Connecting Diversity to Work Perspectives
Unlike the other two paradigms This one works through integration of diversity into an already established workforce
promotes both equal opportunity for all individuals and acknowledges cultral differences amoung people and recongizes the vales of those differences
Eight Preconditions for Making the Paradigm Shift
The organizational culture must create and expectation of high standards of performance from everyone
The organizational Culture must stimulate personal development
The leadership must recongnize both the learning opportunities and the challenges that the expression of different perspectives present for an organization
The organizational culture must encourage openness
The leadership must understand that a diverse work force will embody different perspectives and approchaes to work, and must truly value variety of opioion and insight
The culture must make workers feel valued
The organization must have a well-articulated and widely understood mission.
The organization must have a relatively egalitarian, non-bureaucratic structure
