- - - - Romulus and Remus were twin brothers, the son's of Mars who is the God of War. The twins were sent down the river Tiber, by a king from Alba Longa, left to die. But instead, a she wolf rescued the two boys and raised them. After growing up, the boys ended up defeating the king of Alba Longa and the two founded their own city next to the river Tiber in 753 B.C.. Romulus, later killed his brother Remus, and become the first king of Rome, the city named after him.
        
        Kingdom of Rome
        
        The first big war for the Kingdom of Rome was in 750 BC against the Sabines. The Sabines were one of many different kingdoms neighboring Rome at the time. The war started when Roman warriors stole women from the Sabines and forced them to be their wives. When the Sabines came back to save their women, they had fallen in love with their kidnappers and begged both kingdoms to stop fighting. This is when the kingdom of Sabine and Rome united.
        
        Alba Longa Kingdom
        
        The battle with Alba Longa was major becuase of it's status as being one of the great Latin cities at the time. In 650 BC many thought that Alba Longa was the father city of Rome, but when it fell many of its citizens moved to Rome. Alba was conquered by the leader Tullus Hostilius of Rome.

        The Romans had won a few little battles between the Etruscan's. The Roman leader at the time was a Etruscan monarch, Lucius Tarquinius the king of Rome. After the rape of a woman Lucretia, by a ruler of Etruscan, this led to the revolt by the Roman people. In the end the Rome kingdom had fallen and the establishment of the Roman Republic was declared. 509 BC
  - - - The Latin Wars were a big part of Roman expansion. The Latin Wars were a revolt of the Latin league which was many of the Latin city states and kingdoms near Rome seeking independence from the Domain of Rome. Rome won and thus now controlled all of central Italy. 280-275 BCE
        
        Rome had already conquered Italy, they now set their eyes on control over the Mediterranean sea. This lead into direct conflict with the Carthage's thus starting the Punic wars which last from 264-146 and spanning three different wars. Carthage was a powerful city state in northern Africa, southern Spain and a few islands in the Mediterranean. The biggest battles which was fought by Hannibal of Carthage who led a surprise attack on Italy and won a few major battles. But in the end the Carthage were defeated by the Romans who than gained control of northern Africa.
        
        Julius Caesar was a big part of expanding the Roman Republic. During his Gallic Wars he successfully annexed the Gaul, parts of Britain and some of Germania. This started the Romans conquest and control over most of Europe.
- - - - 27 BC Augustus claims all his power,and gives it to the people of rome and gives equal chance in citizens to have more power. Within four years, He gained loyalty and respect form his soldiers by paying them with the treasures that Clepatra had.
        
        He also placed in laws to make Romes Senate and wealthiest men happy that allowing them to sill have the leading power
        
        He also improved Rome making it more glorious than ever to win the love of his people.
        
        Throught the rest of Augustus legend he added some more territories in Europe and Asia Minor, this doubled the size of Rome.
        
        He created s system of censuses and taxation that helped the finaces of Rome, and allowed Rome to keep up with its exspeces.
        
        Ge also helped builded more roads.
