TECHNOLOGY STANDARDS FOR EDUCATION
TECHNOLOGY STANDARDS FOR EDUCATION
ISTE STANDARDS FOR TEACHERS
MODEL DIGITAL AGE WORK AND LEARNING: Teachers must have the skills to be able to use technology properly, and communicate it with peers, students and parents.
This standard is connected to the Student Standard of Global Collaborator because I believe if a teacher is able to communicate with students and their parents through technology it is a great example for how people can be connected locally and inspire students to try the same.
PROMOTE+ MODEL DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP AND RESPONSIBILITY: Advocate, model and teach proper digital citizenship to peers and students.
The teacher standard to promote model digital citizenship is connected to the student standard of being a digital citizen, because it is the teachers standard to teach and role model what an ethical and law following citizen looks like, and it is the students job to learn from this and shape their own identity appropriately.
DESIGN AND DEVELOP DIGITAL AGE AND LEARNING EXPERIENCE AND ASSESSMENTS: (CONNECT WITH THE STANDARDS FOR STUDENTS TO HELP DEVELOP THE STANDARDS): Teachers are expected to create learning environments and experience that continue to incorporate evolving digital tools, to help allow students meet their ISTE standards.
This ISTE standard for Teacher directly guides teachers to use their knowledge of digital tools to help Students meet their ISTE standards.
ENGAGE IN PROFESSIONAL GROWTH AND LEADERSHIP: Teachers continue to learn the evolving technologies and bring them into their schools.
Engage in professional growth and leadership is connected to the actions of Student-Centered Learning because to create a curriculum with technology infused into it, teachers must understand the technology and always be evolving with the technology. This standard is what helps create this outcome.
FACILITATE AND INSPIRE STUDENT LEARNING AND CREATIVITY: Teachers use their knowledge of subject matter and technology to promote support innovative thinking and inventiveness.
The Teacher Standing of inspiring students to be creative is directly connected to the Creative Communicator ISTE Standard for Students, by the teacher using their own knowledge to help guide students with technology to help them be creative and original
ISTE STANDARDS FOR STUDENTS
The ISTE Standards for Students create an environment and students who learn through independence, just as Student-Cantered learning is expressing
