US government was giving free land in Oregon to pioneers

Their were 120 wagons and 5,000 cattle

Missouri had bad weather

Americans wanted an enjoyable life

Pioneers couldn't find jobs

A lot of businesses closed

Pioneers wanted to live in a place where the soil was richer and the weather was more agreeable and pleasant

In 1862 President Abraham Lincoln and Congress agreed that a railroad should be built

Trains are still important to the U.S because it's safer and faster

In 1825 the first train came to United States.
