INDUSTRY AND GLOBALISATION: The world´s industrial areas
The historical industrial regions
Three most industrialised areas in the world
Japan
European Union
USA
Many big industries have their headquarters in these areas. The benefit they take is their advanced technologies and their local markets, although industry in these areas is declining.
Emerging countries
BRICS
India
China
Russia
South Africa
Brazil
Plus some regional industrialised powers such as Australia and New Zealand.
Why do these countries have highly developed and growing industrialisation?
Globalisation: this allows them to build factories of cheap labour force for then exporting the products to developed countries.
Exploitation of their natural resources, that normally are abundant
The least industrialised areas
These areas are located I the poorest countries of the world, such us all the Sub-Saharan Africa area.
The causes are the lack of money or resources for industrial development.
