A question I would like to ask Malala is, "What motivates you to keep going when you're going through hard times?"
what happened after she was shot
after she was shot she was rushed to hospital in Peshawar where she received life changing surgery which had a possibility of paralyzing her but if she did not receive the surgery, she would die.
impact of incident on Malala's views
I think the shooting motivated Malala to carry on and prove to the world that girls deserve the right to go to school and learn just the same as men. This proves her bravery and persistence as most people in that situation would have walked away and lived normally as the government wanted them to.
What does Malala do now?
Malala now lives in Birmingham with her family and started at Edgbaston high school for girls in March 2013. After the shooting she inspired ex-prime minister Gordon Brown to launch a petition of free education globally. It got 3 million signatures and each country if they wanted free education had to pass the Right to Education bill which Pakistan did. Which left Pakistan with free education for all the children.
She stands up for and tries to hep young women everywhere. She raised awareness about the terrorist group in Nigeria Boko Haram who had kidnapped 219 schoolgirls in Nigeria and looked at ways to help the schoolgirls.
The Malala Fund. It supports education initiatives in developing countries. It helped hundreds of Syrian child refugees get access to education.
Nobel peace prize
Malala won the Nobel peace prize in 2014 (making her the youngest winner ever) for her 'heroic struggle' for girls rights to an education in Pakistan. The Nobel committee stated that despite her age she has already fought for several years to allow girls the right to an education. This is an example that children too can contribute to improve their own living situations instead of leaving it all to the adults. She also did what she did in extremely dangerous circumstances further emphasizing her bravery.
