- - - - Deep Full-Thickness: 4th degree
        Extend beyond the skin, deep injuries damage muscle, bone and tendons and leave them exposed. Wound is blackened and depressed. Sensation is completely absent.
        
        Full-Thickness Wounds: 3rd degree
        Destruction of entire epidermis and dermis. Does not regrow. Edema is severe. May be white, deep, red, yellow, brown, or black. Healing time can take weeks-months
        
        Deep-Partial Thickness Wounds 2nd degree:: Extend Deeper into the skin dermis, Red/Dry with white areas, blanchs slowly. Edema is moderate and pain is present to lesser degree. Burns heal in 3-6 weeks but scare formation results.
        
        Superficial-Thickness Wounds: 1st degree, epidermis only part of skin that is injured, are caused by prolonged exposure to low-intensity heat (e.g., sunburn) or short (flash) exposure to high-intensity heat. S/S

        increased sensitivity
        desquamation for 2-3 days.
